Are YOU A-Zing? #AtoZChallenge

Last year right around this time one of my fellow Scribo buds, Kelly Said, told me about the A to Z Challenge. It's blogging every day in the month of April except for Sundays, with each day assigned a letter from the alphabet.

April 1 - A
April 2 - B

And so on.

Since I'd been TRYING to get my but in gear with the whole blogging thing, I thought it sounded like a cool idea. I decided to give it a shot. Of course, knowing how I love to procrastinate (and realizing this was a HUGE commitment) I decided to do the challenge MY way. Instead of daily I went with a weekly plan.

Anyhoo. I think I got up through E or somewhere thereabouts before crapping out. BUT!!! I started blogging regularly after that. Gimme a gold star!

This year I decided to check out the challenge for real. I went to the website, signed up all official-like, and chose to do a theme to make it easier on myself.

My theme? Here's my little homemade banner. Kinda proud of my non-artistic self seeing as how I can't even draw a decent stick figure.

I decided to take the month of April to showcase some nuggets of insight, inspiration, and encouragement from those who've gone before us, AND promote other authors' works. Fantasy, PNR, and a smattering of a few other genres. Most are from my publisher, J. Taylor Publishing, and the rest are other favs & friends.

The best part? ALL my posts are finished & scheduled. *patting self on back* I get to sit back & relax the whole month long - and hopefully get some work done on my WiP!!

I hope you'll stop by! Perhaps you'll find your new favorite author or book!

If you're interested in A-Zing, head on over HERE  or click the widget in the side bar for the official sign up list.

Are YOU A-Zing? Pick a theme, or panster to the end?

  1. Hi Terri - I'm a first timer on the A-Z challenge and only signed up a few days ago. I'm trying to prepare at least the first half a dozen posts before next week, so that I have a bit of breathing space! My theme isn't really a theme - more an eclectic mixture of inspiration, songs, a monologue (complete with an audio clip) and then whatever happens to fall out of my brain during the next few days and weeks! Good luck and I'll swing by again during the challenge.

    1. Eclectic is good! It's nice having variety. My purpose this year is to promote as many of my publisher's titles as possible.

Glad you signed up & best of luck to you too!

  2. Terri, that is a really great theme! And this year, you are all ready.
My posts are almost completely written. (I won't schedule until the night before each one since the Ninja News will continue to run.) I decided to add an extra layer to my posts, so I'm doing just a little extra work right now.

  3. I just signed up. Considering how little I've done with my blog the past several months, this is going to be tough. But I'm giving it a try. I'm going with books for the most part and started figuring some out. So far I have D, H, S, and W off the top of my head. Hopefully, I'll get through a bunch of these books that have been waiting around for me to read them.

  4. Alex - I scheduled mine because I'll be gone for 2 weeks, but if I have news or updates, I'll definitely be adding those before posting! Thanks for stopping by.

Jaleh - Good for you! It's amazing how doing this last year got my butt in gear with this blog. I've been consistent ever since. I hope it works for you as well! (Feel free to use 'E' for my debut novel. *wink wink*) Thanks for commenting!

    1. Katherine - click on the A-Z widget on the right side bar - it will take you to their webpage. On the top left is the '2013 A to Z Sign up / list. Click on that. At the very bottom of the post is 'Click here to enter' in bold blue. Click on that & fill it in. It will add you to the list.
