Synopsis:

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

I'll start off by saing that I LOVE JLA. That being out of the way, I'll admit to being disappointed with this third installment of the Lux Series.

The characters rock - that goes without saying, but this started out slow. S.L.O.W. And it remained that way for me until close to the 90% mark.

I couldn't help myself. I skimmed. This book could have easily been combined with the one before it & not lost a thing IMO.

The sexual tension wasn't as palatable this time around between Katy & Daemon either. Perhaps because they've already admitted to liking each other & are in a relationship. They bicker, but the newness and hotness has dimmed. Lots of kissing and inconvenient (CONVENIENT  IMO) moments of interruption. After the third such scene I rolled my eyes.

The ending - because I'd heard lots about it - was good. Excitement was high. Heart pounding. But then it was over. All of maybe 10 pages or so, the only redeeming part of this book.

Kills me, but I can only go 3 on this one.

Sorry Daemon. You're hotter than hell, but this book was just all right.

    1. Yeah. I just wish something new had been brought to the table. I still plan on reading to the end of this series, though. Need to know what happens to these characters.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
